AN IMPORTANT UPDATE ON CONDITIONS IN GRAND BOULAGE
Dear Friends of Haiti,
Thank you for your unwavering support.
Due to the current violence and political instability in Haiti, Seeds of Hope for Haiti is pausing fund transfers until we can ensure their safe delivery.
Haiti is facing severe challenges with escalating gang violence and political unrest. Even Grand Boulage, though somewhat isolated, is affected, with armed gangs threatening access to essential resources, like food and clean water, and causing residents to flee, leading to the temporary closure of the school and clinic.
In light of these dangers, we've made the difficult decision to suspend fund transfers temporarily. However, we remain steadfast in our commitment to the people of Grand Boulage and Our Lady of Sorrows and the covenant we made with them almost 15 years ago. We stand in solidarity with them for the long haul.
We're working closely with our trusted partners – Outreach to Haiti and Medicines for Humanity – who have staff on the ground, to monitor the situation and will resume transfers when conditions improve.
Meanwhile, we're raising funds to ensure swift support for the school and clinic once it's safe to do so. We'll keep you updated on our progress and welcome any questions or concerns.
Thank you for standing with us and the people of Grand Boulage during these challenging times.
Warm Regards,
Seeds of Hope for Haiti
